RePlant Cheseboro Park!
RePlant Cheseboro Park
Charles Garfield donated the land for Cheseboro Park in 1931 and suggested naming the park for Edward Cheseboro, the first principle of Grand Rapids High School. Garfield wanted nothing more than a playground at the park for little children. He stated that the donation of Cheseboro Park expressed his "love for Grand Rapids...and faith in its future."
In 2012, Emerald Ash Borer infested the only 9 trees in this small park, and they were removed. These trees shaded the small playground.
Volunteers will help to replant 10 trees in the park to replace the Green Ash. This replanting project is part of the Urban Forest Project.
